What is it about Bandung that has not been said already? Cool "indie" people? Check. Cool bands? Check. Cool clothing distros? Check. Cool climate? Check. 7 uber cool abangs from KL taking an 8 hour train from Jogja to the Kota Kembang for a gig? C-c-check it out this! Ngahaha so geli right, i know.
We arrived in Bandung after an 8 hour train ride, we left Wednesday morning. A long journey means a lot of sleep for Rafiq heehee! Met up with the Anak-Anak Collective, Deden and Adi,.. and spent other times with them, Ivan, Hangga and friends from dance rock band Inspirational Joni. It looked like a whole platoon

We're thankful that the Bandung scenesters managed to cook up a show for us, as it was pretty difficult to have a show in Bandung due to a recent stampede tragedy at a punk gig that left 10 people dead.. So at one point the prospects of a Bandung show was bleak. Skali not only did we score a show, twas a studio show at that! the sempiter the better, we thought
Apparently we were going to play in an underground jam studio... so we were pretty stoked to hear that. So when gig day came (the day after we arrived), we got more excited. This jam studio was a real thrill, above at ground level they had a kedai video game and people were battling their Winning Elevens without a single care of whats going on underneath.. very unassuming place lah!

Then it was Orbit. What better way to end the the tour...

So that was it. I dont know how else to tell you people, but this whole touring thing is just too great. Ours was very small scale but I sure hope this is a start for bigger things to come... It was a humbling experience. We've had the pleasure to meet many wonderful souls, and played with great bands throughout and hung out with the coolest cats in their respective towns ! Thank you to ALL individuals involved, down to every roach and cat that we saw along the way.. Jumpa lagi.

By the time we packed up and got ready to leave, it was midday. We're gonna take a train down to Jogja from Solo, which is about an hour away. We said our last goodbyes and thankyous to our hosts Aam and Tunjung and went on to Jogja with Awang and Martin

We got to Jogja and was greeted by the organizer, Menuz @ Indra from Kongsi Jahat Syndicate. The name itself sounded garang, so we were convinced we're on for a wild night. After sorting out hotel rooms, we got ready for the show, some 30 mins away from where we lodged. I remember liking Jogja alot especially the housing area that had narrow alleys that led up to our lodging.. they were somewhat tranquil in the middle of the hustle and bustle of city around it. I figured it was a backpackers lodging area as we walked pass a laundromat and a few cyber cafes... even the kids there seemed unfazed watching strange looking people carrying instruments walking pass their football courts and houses.
One other thing about Jogja that's astoundingly impressive was how their walls are covered with graffiti. Every piece of wall big enough for an art piece, you'll see a kick ass graffiti on it... heck, every ceruk and celah of the town has some graffiti somewhere. *I dont have pictures of it on the cam, but i'm sure we have it somewhere. will post it up once i get hold of em* With graffiti in abundance, one can tell that Jogja is a town brimming with art. Cun gila! *insert your sigh and reflection on Malaysia here*

We got to the venue around dinner time, and met up with Ari Ernesto and the Off Minor boys (men?) at this vegetarian eatery nearby. We had the best meals that nite... mock duck, mock chicken, mushroom masak kicap and.. you guessed it, tempe! We ate like pigs.

First band of the nite, Jogja's Jealous Lovers. Kick! Ass!Then OCB came on and showed Jogja how it's done, Gombak style! Disappoint, they did not.

After a few bands later, it was us. We were determined to redeem ourselves from the poor show the nite before.

For a fitting ending to the night, New York's Off Minor amazed us for one last time before parting with us

From then on, it was beers beers beers and more beers for the boys. Sesi suai kenal was in procession, pictures for the road and memories only we can remember

So this was the last time we were gonna hang out with them. It was an eye opening experience touring with such a seasoned band like them. Looking at how they worked their way around bad sound and equipment and still came out tops, we knew we still have a long way to go. It was great honour for us and OCB to be able to have this tour with a band we look up to so much.
We said our goodbyes and exchanged addresses and whathaveyous... it felt a little sedih and sayu right after. Like we've known each other forever...

Off Minor travel to Kediri the next morning, to play a show there before heading up to Surabaya and fly to Japan.

A few days before our flight out to Solo on Monday, we got news that the flight will be delayed to 4pm. We were supposed to fly out at 6:55 am Monday morning... I had mixed feelings about it initially, but hey! at least we got the get some shuteye after the gig on Sunday.

We made some new friends;We arrived in Solo as it began to get darker (5:30pm local time), after sorting out our bags and stuff the Solo collective took us to the gig venue, which is an open air tennis court in an Arts and Cultural University (i think)... It was downright awesome the place, i tellz ya. in one classroom nearby there's some wayang kulit practice going on, then in another pondok nearby there were girls rehearsing a traditional dance routine ala Makyong.. stuff you see in the PGL The Movie, nahmean? it was too amazing that i forgot to take any photos of it ! Anyhoos, we played with a whole lot of street punk bands.. it was weird. hm.
Amidst all the weird looks and fidgety shrugs between us, Off Minor came on to a rousing response. Kids came down to the stage in droves and had some spilling over the back of the stage as well... even with some technical glitches in the beginning, THEY OWNED!

We was up next. We didn't have the best of shows i must admit; too many technical problems, and all of us were dying to get off stage as soon as we could *sobsob*

OCB came on last that nite... by then they were probably 20 odd people left. Most of the kids left after one band (from Malang, if i'm not mistaken) played before OCB, i figured they must've been THE highlight band in those parts...

Did i mention OCB played a blistering set? Ya damn right they did! Continuing where they left off in KL, OCB delivered yet another mindblowing set.. Power mat !!

Off Minor left to Jogja that same nite with Mas Ari Ernesto, while our gracious host Aam took us back to his place to crash for the nite... We first went to have supper, it's called Nasi Liwet, rice with a concoction of curry made with pumpkin and chicken and santan (?) There's also an egg that's already transformed midway into a chick, the head can be seen already.. nasty! No we didn't eat that, nope. After filling up, we headed back to Aam's place to share our late nite jokes & gurau senda before the Snore Fest kicked off

SO, we just got back from a short tour with one of the bands that changed our lives, Off Minor. We knew it was gonna be one helluva experience so we thought, hell no we're doing this without our great pals and brothers... so we roped in Orbit Cinta Benjamin to come with us... creating more of a ruckus at that! well not really. we were pretty prim and prude most of the time... talk about manners!

The tour started out with Off Minor arriving in Singapore, had a show there with Orbit (which we didn't feature), then came down to KL together with us and a slew of KL's best bands... and then we flew out to Central Java starting with Solo and then Jogjakarta..

Anyway, as the new year would,predictably, bring new change, we as 4 lads inevatably drowned in its rapid waters.

Piut left, Rafique (ballest ever!)assumed the guitar position, and we invited dear sneak freak Alijo to be on board.

It's taking a while but it's been a progressive start.

2008, take us to where the children of tomorrow dream away, the wind of change...the wind of changeee! ( end it with a high note)

Soooorrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Yeah, we've been slacking off on upating the blog, and we apologize for that.
And no, there's no compensation for you guys either, so it's a lose-lose situation.

Chronogically reporting, we've been playing a few shows since our last update.
We played Infinite Delay's SPlit CD release with Blood On Wedding Dress, alongside Orbit Cinta Benjamin, Jazz and Mosh, and new sensations, Vultures. In case you haven't heard about them, Vultures is an act worth watching. So, in case you don't get the message, do it!
And when you buy the split Cd, you better buy a spare pair of undies, cause it's gonna wet you up, yo!

We invaded Singapore and JB with fellow conquerors Orbit Cinta Benjamin , thanks to Borhan of Jazz and Mosh and Khairil of Halal//Hadhari for hooking us up with shows. Both were awesome shows, and we played with kick ass bands. We screamed until our lungs sore, and clapped like firecrackers.
Keep yer eyeballs popping for Por Vida, Halal//Hadhari, Oslo Castaways and other bands from the low South. Crazy stufff I tells ya.

We also played a show last week for the Bollok Wok Vol 3 compilation release. Kudos to them East Coast crewfor the effort. Sek kito jangae pecoh!

Last but not least, we're playing this Saturday at the Rock Against Drugs gig, at MCPA theatre, somwhere in KL.
We'll be playing early, so if you;re free, come and stare at our unimpressive physique swaying to inconsistent beats.

Zamir has taken too much of his leave, so we can't really say when is our next show, but we'll keep you guys updated (No promises about updating the blog tho)

A few releases are pending at the moment, hope they'll be out soon enough, cause our old songs are getting a bit,err, how do I say it.......tiring :

Mawi should've slammed us with Ultimate Warrior's killer move, which I can't recall of at the moment.
Here's an apologetic shout out to those who came last nite an expected a great show (hey,so did we). We lost it from the fourth song onwards. The sound didn't help much. But you guys did.

As they say, you can't have a roll forever.

In an abashedly sense of compensating of what a disastrous set last nite was, we're going to brew up a show, with a few friends. Here's a sneak peek of the secret ingredients : 2 "undiscovered- shotgun blowing- through your brain" acts, 2 'they're so fast you can;t keep up even with a pack of wolves chasing you from behind" acts, and a "so punk you wish you had a curfew and watched Desperate Housewives every night" act.

However, this might change in the future. But let's hope it changes for the better!

Plus, coming up our demo re-released on cassette (go analog!), and another project we can't reveal yet,otherwise our virginities will be smashed like ants on hot cement.

And if you're not celebrating Christmas, do come to the show at Awakening Studio on 25th December, as we're releasing our demo tape. And you gotta love the bands performing that day.

So all and all, we seek for your apology and would like to wish a tremendous 2007.

Fist of all, I'd like to apologize for not updating this blog earlier. Blogger.com has been giving me a lot of complications lately, but that's not an excuse. So, have room in your heart to forgive this conventionally-lazy-Malay boy.

Our last gig in Klang was a bang!Loadsa fun, friendly vibes all around, awesome bands.The audience was like a pack of cheeleaders on E (minus the beauiful bodies and matching oufits, that is).

I say everybody brought the house down, from Kias Fansuri to Blood On the Wedding Dress.
Big thunder claps for Ateng and crew!

We've been a bit slow this Ramadhan, but keep 'em hopes high for the upcoming demo tape after Raya, insya Allah.

If you have ideas on how to package the tape, do message us via myspace. Cos we do not have a fucking clue!

Eventhough it's due in a week or so, we'd like to wish everybody Selamat Hari Raya and Happy Deepavali. Maafkan salah silap kami. Maybe we've hurt you in ways that are sublime, or maybe you're too much of a sensitive bloke /(blokette (?) ).

I personally am still excited that we did it and it went pretty darn well.

WE HAD A BLAST!

We don;t know what the others said, but we had an awesome first show,to make it better,at Unclogged! Great time, great vibe, great friends, great bands, great place. And we owe it a lot to friends who came and made us extra nervous(hey,it worked) and also the crowd for not yelling "Woi,lagu ke menatang hapa ni?".

Force Vomit played a dynamite set, The Mindless Show tickled us silly. Kudos to Aloe in the Bottle, Yandsen and gal,Bubble Boy and Handsome Rais.

We're gonna sing out loud again on this 31st of August ( don;t worry,you'll make it to Unclogged in time). So, if you're not in Dataran Merdeka checking out rempit chicks on that day, do come and celebrate INDIEPUNKDANCE DAY with us!

Greetings, Earthlings.

We have a few good news to share with you. Can't contain it, so we're spilling it out in this page.

First of all,
We received such an overwhelming response over the weekend, our demo CD's are sold out!We made around 30 copies for the weekend, and they were selling like hot cakes!

But fret not dear friends, we are making a few more copies and they;re gonna be sold at our first gig.Which brings us to the second good news, OUR FIRST GIG!

We're playing Unclogged on the 4th of August 2006, alongside Force Vomit, the Mindless Show, and a few more acts. Flyers aren;t out yet, but we'll post them as soon as our eyes catch the sight of it.

And it doesn't end there. On the 31st, we're organizing a show with Keng from Awakening at his studio in Taman Desa. What better way to celebrate independence day than to go out and dance at a independent gig.Btul tak? Flyer design is in the super-duper-rocket-science-design-lab at the moment, keep your eyes peeled for it.

Shouts of grattitude to Joe Kidd, Jay, Keng, Orbit Cinta Benjamin, Nao, Akta Angkasa, Arif and to the kids that bought our CD.

Uhhh!

After 7 hours of focused determination ( who are we kidding? ), we managed to record 4 songs. We haven;t mixed it yet, but we're pretty happy with the current sound. Should be better after the mix.

If you expect a crystal clear sound, with mesmerizing delay/tremolo/chorus/phaser infested guitar lines, a round,warm jazzy bass sound and drums a la Nickelback, sorry to disappoint you.

We're currently looking for ideas to package our demo CD. So,if you have any bright ones, post a comment ok?

P/S: I don;t know why I'm posting this when I know nobody knows the existance of this blog.sheesh.
